Skipping
Supermarkets and local shops throw away perfectly edible food everyday! Food and drinks that maybe were in a multi pack and cannot be sold separately, stuff that got dropped and the packaging got damaged. Or stuff that cannot be sold before the sell by date. Best before dates are always stated a few days before the product loses its best and then it takes a few days after that for it to go off, and you can always freeze most things. You can tell whether a product has gone off by it’s look and it’s smell. Some things such as chocolate never go off and skips contain a lot of chocolate at certain times of the year, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Christmas, Easter for example.
This food sits in a skip outside the building ready to be transported to a landfill. Save the food, save the land and save your pocket!
*Warning – The contains of a skip does actually belongs to whoever owns the skip, and therefore can classify as stealing but no-body really cares, the police even helped us locate a skip once! The food is in the skip for a reason, it’s worth trying to work out why it’s there before stuffing yourself with a product recall!
